Trabeculae or "cords" of frequently vacuolated eosinophilic cells are found in a myxoid background.
Chordoid menigiomas rarely occur in pure form and rather represent a feature in more aggressive (atypical or malignant) meningiomas. Therefore, presence of the chordoid morphological feature generally indicates a less favourable prognosis. They are WHO grade II. Tumor tissue is reminiscent of Chordoma A case report can be found here 45 yr F, more images "Chordoid tissue": biological significance and relevance of the term If you are a neuropathologist who would like to propose a set of ICDNS reference images for this entity please contact the webmaster. -------------------- |
